Summary

a design competition in collaboration with Hochshule Anhlat regarding the re-design of the Story of berlin museum, the already existing museum is located in berlin and is seperated into two parts; an exhibition space and a bunker. 

the task was to re-imagine what the exhibition space looks like which was very intresting to me since it aimed to materialize 800 years of berlin's history into one space. 

my idea of this design was to create an enviroment that reflects the current aura of Berlin all while changing the way history is presented to the new generations and different age groups. 

one of the highlights of this design is the paramteric  light installation as a celebration of The German Edison Society acquiring the first license to produce light bulbs for Germany and became the Allgemeine Elektizitätsgesellschaft AEG (General Electricity Society), covering all fields of the energy industry.

the entry and reception area was given an industrial look and feel as it was the pillar of berlin's history when germany emerged as an industrial monolith.

as for the exhibition i thought alot about berlin and its history and its current state and found the core element of my design to be flexibility, i wanted to provide a space that can be updated and rennovated constantly with certain Design element that highlights important phases of berlin's hisotry such as the golden twinties highlighted by a bright orange floor to cieleing stripes. 

i also provided glass cabines that would either act as displays for valuable items or for 3d animated shows that can be generated by many of berlins high tech companies and start ups that continue to serve as part of berlin's histortical development over the years and what it has come to. 

semi transparent partitions were added inspired by berlins famous parlimant's dome pattern which acted as a "Chambers of secrets" in which you'll find intresting historical facts about berlin, baiscaly you can think of these partions as mini cabinets that would allow future rennovaters and designers to add their playfullness to it such as items, audios, visual Displays and lightings all while seperating the space and directing the circulation of the visitors. 

the main exhibition space that would mark the pinncale of your visit is an open space cube like display that would host either 3d animated displays or extremly valuable items, elevated on two stair steps and acting as poduim or a rest space for the visitors; this design element acts as a multi-purpose space that can accomodate lectures, displays or to simply put it; a place where you can just sit down and collect your expierience and what you just saw
