Public Park at Downtown Amman

Summary

a public park in al balad , a landscape project as part of my bachelor studies , in this project we encountered an empty plot of land in the dense highly populated area of downtown amman , the site is located next to a labirary is very near to a taxi pick up point.

the site connected to highly active streets that conncect many business, schools and major facilities in the area so we had to focus on it being a safe space and a retreat for those seeking some peacful time during the busy work hours, we tried to achive this relaxing theme by centering the park around around a central water feature that acted as a water collection point due to the site naturally having run off water rains due to its position on the slope which would be a very sustainble solution instead of all of this water going to waste, we also added multiple water collecting devices underneath that landscaping.

we divided the site into three hydro zones ( see pcitures below ) and added Premabpe paving for sidewalks as an additional sustainable solution.

as for the tree selection pur choices were; silk trees , scotch elm, Australian pine as a buffer wall and honey locust.

when it came to choosing the plants Centipede grass was chosen as green cover while flowers cosisted of: Coreopsis, Hibiscus and Regal Geranium.
