" NA.Cl " a hydroelectric powerplant located in the dead sea is my proposal for AMD Design awards 2022 that focuses on renewable energy, having been able to obtain 3rd place in this competition i have gained new insights on the importance of finding alternate ways to approach energy consumption.
the dead sea have been shrinking at an alarming pace every since the late 90's due to climate change and many other factors such as unethical uses of mineral companies and water diversion programmes.
as a solution for this problem the " dead sea red sea water conveynece pipeline " was propsed by Jordan and several enviromental institutions and countries, the pipeline would increase the waterflow to the dead sea by connecting it to the red sea, such a project would have been a very convient solution.
one of the benifts of such a project would be to make use of the hydroelectric power generated by the water flow from one sea to the other however, the project was halted in the year 2020 for poltical reasons.
after going through the real studies done to this project and after many findings i was able to locate the facilities that were to be built if the project went underway, my project Na.Cl is an imitation of what could have been the third hydroelectric power plant among the pipeline and the last before the discharge point into the dead sea.
